Did you happen to disassemble a bottom seat cushion? If so, how did you unbond the leather from the foam? My sport seats are in pretty good shape except for that stupid diagonal seam on the seat bottom which is split.
If I remember correctly the 94-96 Sport Leather seats were specially made by Lear and actually used Connolly Hide Leather. This is a much higher quality leather than was used on C5 and C6 seats.
If you purchase replacements today the leather comes glued to the foam. A well known source for these seats is Al Knoch. They are not however inexpensive.
My 1994 Convert came with Sport Seats and I just didn't care for them. I had them replaced with new seat covers bonded to new cushion with the Base Model seats using the Sport Frames.
Now the seat (IMO) look like they belong in a Covette and not a Mercedes Step Van.
The company I ordered form had them drop shipped from Corvette America so I ma sure they are the same seats Ecklers has to offer.
RUU, Everything I've read on seat replacement suggests replacing the foam at the
same time as the leather. Is your foam in that good a condition?
Just wondering why you would want to keep the old stuff.
I know the foam isn't cheap but when I replace mine (soon) I'm going
to go all the way with new foam too.

I don't want to replace anything. I want to remove the leather from the seat bottom so I can have the seam repaired and will reinstall it back on the foam.
RUU, I misunderstood. I think my first try would be with a long sharp knife.
Kind of like a carving knife. Or maybe a serrated bread knife.
Once you get a start
you may be able to peel back the leather with one hand while carefully slicing with a sawing motion with the other.
