At least now that the C7 is out the C4 is not the ugliest Corvette anymore.

The C 4 is the second best looking Corvette, after the 1956-57 Vettes.

The foregoing is just my personal opinion and is not to be construed by anyone as an absolute truth.

I'm going to put some positivity in here and say there's no such thing as an ugly Corvette, and there's a generation for everyone.

Original Corvette, that is. Abominations notwithstanding.

Trust me, JD - if someone gave me a C5 with the requirement that I drive it every day to keep it - hell yes, I'd drive it! And I'd like driving it. ..it's just not my preference.

I just made that post because I own a C5 and like it. Kind of a payback. I do like C4s. I do like the C7 as long as it's not a coupe. I am sorry but I hate the whole roof on the C7 coupe. It has Mustang quarter windows. The color up the sides is just wrong. The thing looks like it has a back seat. I do hope to have a C4 ZR1 some day. And a C3 as well. But the other half says no more cars until I get my new shop built and have room for them. She knows her car will end up outside.

I do like the C7, but I get what you're saying. Good luck growing your collection.

I'm of the mind that every generation can be poked fun at, while simultaneously being appreciated. Once upon a time, every Corvette you see on the road was the latest, greatest available when it was built.

Hey, DuraMax - I put that up there 'cause I thought it was funny - and it IS my opinion of the C5 rear end. Doesn't mean I think anyone should agree with me, or that I think my opinion is worth anything.

The C6 and C7 rear end are actually pretty big too, but I think the C5 lacks the "sculpting" that the C6 and C7 have. It makes it look like just a big broad expanse of plastic.

At the time, I thought the new Vette was wider and the rear bigger because it was trying to compete with the Viper. I don't think Chevrolet really understood what "Corvette" means to those of us who buy and drive them, and that the Viper isn't and never really was a threat.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!

Anyhow, my apologies if you (and any C5 owner) were offended. It really wasn't pointed in that direction.

First off let me say that I appreciate any generation of Corvette. Now that I have deflected any butthurt I can say that comic is hilarious!

Personally the lack of fender flares on the c5 and how rounded the lines are turns me off of them. Now a c5 z06 with flares, those look real nice.

I don't like hood scoops on Corvettes, or most other cars for that matter, I think it draws away from their basic sculpted lines too much; but, I understand why many guys do like them and want them .....

Are you referring to my 4 inch cowl? I need it for clearance. Don't need my engine sticking out through the hood. Tried that, didn't like having to hide from rain.

Plus my new engine will need it too.

Except all Corvette fender flares starting with the C4 right thru the C7 look like the homemade ones from the 60s. They look like the cut rebar and fill flares.

Eh, we all have our opinions. I like sharp lines and fender flares; you don't. No big deal.
