I have almost always named my vehicles from day one. Our old LTD was the Silver Bullet, an old Blazer was Bo Bo, and my first 1985 4+3 Corvette was Matilda. I have no idea where that name came from.
The current rides are named Chuck the Money Maker for the Grand Am and the 94 six speed coupe Corvette is named Apollo, like the rocket.
I know the date is off in the photo, but thanks to Bad Ump I have that fixed.
Nothing to tell. I just always felt kind of "fake" when I tried to name a car. It just does not come out genuine for me. My wife named her car Junior and it seems cool. Since my Corvette is silver I thought of The Bullet, but it's like the time I had my ear pierced. Just not me. Fine for others.

Yeah, same for me. The name would really have to stick and seem to have named itself for me to actually name my car.

On the third hand, you DO have to name them something. I mean, I guess you can say "the '94" or "The Corvette" or whatever. But then you get a second pickup or Corvette .. and you have to figure it out again. "I"m taking the red '94 out for a drive" or "I'm taking the Chevy pickup to the store."
It's much easier to say "Let's take Jack" or "Ariel's not been out of the garage since November!"
Much more personal than "The Bright Aqua Metallic 1994 Corvette hasn't been out of the garage since November."

Well, unless the cars are exact twins, it's pretty easy. "The Vette." "The 94." "The red one." It's not that hard, Max! Or should I call you, "The guy from Washington with two Corvettes that talks on the forums a lot?"

Mm .. sure, mister guy from Nevada with NO Corvettes that talks on the forums a lot!
But, you should be forewarned that when Ms. '93 Dark Red Metallic bites you and you want to name her Ruby .. that name's already taken!
I have never been one to name my cars (or my guns for that matter). It always seemed silly.
Then I got a vette. Naming her just seemed like the right thing to do.
She's named Margret, after the fictional mistress my wife always jokingly accuses me of having.
<heh> Yea. Lately between seat recovering and weatherstripping installation and general cleaning, "Fiona" has gotten a LOT more attention than my wife.
My old Chevy pickup is "Old Blue." My very first car as a kid was a '59 Peugeot I called the Magic Bus (after an old Who song).
I've named a guitar I built "Sadie," after sexy Sadie in that old Beatles tune. I have an Ovation acoustic I call <deleted to be forum PC> (and I can't call her that in front of the wife) but no names for all the other guitars... I don't really have a name for the Vette. I just call it the Corvette when we're talking about the cars in the garage. Old Blue sits outside, poor bastard. The Passat I just call the Wagon, because that's what it is.
I had a 1972 plymouth grand fury III. I named that "the boat". No name for any car since.
I had one of those 72 Fury III's a long while back also! Two door, skirts, 440 4bbl. police special. Car was ordered that way. Roadrunner mufflers, hide-a-way headlights. One of my favorite cars! I named her "Trymee". The name said it all to anyone who challenged her. Many were really shocked! My 85 C4 is named "Scarlett" because of it being red. It too is one of my favorite cars.

I never really named until the Vette I call it the Golden Nugget
because I wanted to drive it to Vamps in Las Vegas(good food).
Now the 97 Range Rover I think they are all called Rangie but I only liked naming the Vette. My 97 Celica GT convertible is the Celi. Only the Corvette got a real name for some reason.
