I have no idea why it is that apparently a bit of emery cloth was a fix for Cliff. I suspect that with some wear, the sharp edges might be a detriment and might cause binding that would be alleviated by smoothing. Or that might be completely off base.

In the end, I don't really care. You've made your case. Can we move on?
What's wrong with you? I'm not the one that drug this thread up from the grave! You guys are the ones that started posting again and I just responded. I HADmoved on till you guys revived it.

I've stayed out of this, but come on man. Is that really necessary?

By my observation, you were the single person who got worked up in this thread. I wouldn't say anyone has attacked you, yet rather than countering another's opinion in a constructive manner, it seems you're trying to pin people into looking bad.

We respect your passion for the information you're providing, and it probably comes from a place of strongly advising against the opposing opinion. But personally, I appreciate members that conduct themselves with a humble and positive attitude. Just my two cents.

OK, I see you guys don't want to leave this alone, so I'll play. If anyone is trying to make someone look bad, it is you guys. You will not internet bully me to keep quiet. Let's get back to the basics here. Yes, I am very passionate about correct information. As I have stated before, people come here looking for help and I believe they should get correct info. Anytime I tell an untruth, let me know.

I had supplied my information in a polite form to Mr. Harris back in the other thread. Go read it. I gave you all the information to do so. Rather than take the information, digest it and maybe say "I did not know that", he ignored my facts. Then in this thread(post 10), he again puts forth the idea that shifting problems can be corrected by filing off the valve edges. In post 13, I asked him why? Here is where it gets interesting. Immediately in post 14, someone else decided that they knew what he was thinking and rebutted me. He kept calling my facts "opinions" so I responded. He obviously did not know the definition of opinion. An opinion is defined as an idea based on a subjective matter. Nothing subjective about my facts. Mr. Harris did not respond until post 30. At this time, he took the facts I had presented and called them "internet myths". Go back and read it - it is there in black and white in his opening statement. And his defense to this statement? Two links to his own website and a six year old post in a partial thread! Hardly credible. (As a side note, it is interesting that Mr. Harris in his two links denies other peoples ideas as being myths and presents what he calls facts, and in this thread he is calling my facts myths.)

From there, everything went south. In everyone's zeal to gang up on Arbee and defend poor old Cliff, several of you have missed the point and the facts as written. I have said this here before, but I will try one more time. Everyone can have an opinion(please look up the meaning) but when you put this forth as fact, then expect to be called on it. Mr. Harris posts on a mutitude of threads here and does have lots of factual material. But just because you have been here since Noah was a recruit, it does not make you the messiah. Even Cliff can be wrong.
