Likely not as much as you might think. Much might depend on the warranty of the replacement engine. If the warranty were transferable to a prospective buyer then it might be worth substantially more than an engine warranty that isn't able to be transferred.

If your intention is to keep and drive then that's likely only a decision you could make.

Value would also depend on the source of the engine I'd think also.

As was answered earlier - depends on a few variables and the intent.
Are you looking for an identical engine or trying to squeeze in a big block double pumper?
Depends on the quality of work - an unnoticed/undetected transplant or a hacked up botch job?

If I noticed a poorly done hack job - wouldn't touch it.
If it was done cleanly and with care - a better alternative.

However - value on a stock/base/large volume C4 is not going anywhere soon.

Regardless of the make or model - any car of the same vintage will have a continuous battle between preventive maintenance vs. parts failure.

Most likely the value will not be affected at least in your lifetime. Now if your saving it for your great grandchild maybe it might.

Might affect the value a couple hundred.

If you want to know if a new engine that costs you $2000 to install will increase the value of the car by $2000, the answer is no.

I have the same year model almost the same mileage no engine problems so my 1st question is did you do the proper break in periods !!! Did you track the car I did not so I have taken trips of 3200 4200 and 1800 miles I guess that would be harder to do in a Tesla !!! Is your car a daily driver ??? I also have the same extended warranty !!! This is the 3rd car I purchased an extended warranty because it was a 1st year model !!! Did they give you a free loner car ???
