Excited to get my 89 out of storage and give her a makeover. Been busy buying parts. I bought the car last year and wasnt in great shape, the interior was rough and the exterior had a backyard paint job done on it. First pic is of it now, good from far, far from good. New door trim panels, found some used seats in great shape, have nice good used console platics, new floor mats, new weatherstripping, new tires, new hooker headers and y pipe, picked up a nice acrylic top, and the last pic shows the paint chip of the color i plan to paint it, c7 laguna blue. I will keep this thread going with my progress as i go for those interested.

Well i got the car out of storage today and into the shop. Did a fiberglass patch to the drivers quarter, a previous owner decided to delete the antenna. I dont mind it gone but i could tell there was work under the paint and had fine cracks so i ground out the old work and layed some fiberglass down. Not much but its a start, also my first time working with fiberglass. Went well i thought. Is two fiberglass mat layers enough to work over? More progress to follow....
Haha no i dont think so, im guessing the delete was done when the panel was damaged in the same area, cracks spread far thats why it ended up being so large
I hope to be finished in a month. I got to work on the hood today, i knew it would be the worst part of the job as its been bubbling and cracking all over the top. Started stripping it with 80 grit, wasnt enough... Switched to 40 grit and still painfully slow. I have never sanded anything like this, like sanding a rock! And i found the cause of the bubbling paint... 10 layers on the hood! I spent 5 hours sanding and im still not done... Painfull but necessary
