Something I learned today with the factory keyless entry. If you turn the car off open your door and hit "unlock" on your electric switch, it will still arm the anti theft. And when you open the doors the horns will still blow!?..

Take your FOB in the house (out of range).
Open your car door and roll down the drivers window.
Now open the door, and use the electric lock switch on the door to lock the door.
Get out, and close the door.
The factory alarm system is now armed.
To test, reach in through the open window and unlock the door then open the door.
The alarm will go off (horns blowing).
It had nothing to do with the factory keyless entry system.
