Basic physics; the car picks up a charge as it passes over the road, the fuel picks up a charge as it flows through the hose, your clothes pick up a charge as you exit the car. It's a wonder we're not all toast.
Oddly, the Corvette is the only car I've owned that doesn't zap the @*&^%out of me when I get out. Fiberglass?
