The driver's window on my 91 corvette didn't go back up this morning. I suspect the switch since I had it up and down several times before it didn't go up from about half way down. It will still go down ok. It appears that there is just a cover over the switches and mirror adjustment, but I see no screws or attachments. Does anyone know if this pops off or is it just an optical illusion, I don't want to mess up the door panel.
I recently worked on my 96 Passenger window and my window switch just pulled straight up out of the door panel. It is just held in there by tension tabs on the switch and just pulled straight up after I got under the edges of it. Doesn't hurt the door panel at all.
Don't know if the color codes are the same for the driver door in a 91 or not. To test mine I unplugged the BROWN, BLACK, and the BLUE wires from the switch. By connecting ground (BLACK)from one to the other, you can check if it is the switch or a loose wire somewhere else.
I made up a little poem to help me remember what the wires did: Ground on BROWN the window goes DOWN. Ground on BLUE, it goes UP for you.
Hope that helps a little.
On my 94 there are 2 screws where you pull the door shut at the bottom of the plastic housing... Then you lift from the bottom and slide it down.
Thanks, I'm ashamed t o say there was enough dirt in the bottom of mine I didn't see the screws. Found and removed them cleaned and r eplaced the switch everything works good.
Thanks again
