Paint codes??
I'm having my Vette's hood and rear bumper cover painted and was wondering how I find the paint code for my color?
My Vette is not it's original color of Light Grey Met when new but was painted the Corvette color "Bright Aqua Met" over 6 years ago. How does one go about ordering the paint?

Find somebody with that color car and ask them for the 4 character paint code underneath their center console. On a C4 there are typically 2 of them
For example on my car I have...
U8769
L8769
...meaning both the upper and lower halves of the car are both "yellow". You give that code to the paint shop and they reference it to a paint mixing catalog to get the right amounts of each color.
What you need to do is contact who paitned your car and try to find out what brand of paint was used since the entire car isn't being redone.

He did tell me he had another car painted by them and said he thinks it was a PPG brand paint.
