I just purchased a 86 corvette, Great little car! Cant wait to get it finished, the issue I am having is I just changed the fuel relay switch hoping it would help is the fuel pump does not stop priming. I have to unplug the battery for it to stop priming. I changed the relay hoping that would help. Does this sound like a fuel pump issue? Like I stated the only way I can get it to stop is to unplug the battery, it runs if the keys not in it and everything. what do you think the issue is?

What happens if you pull the relay ....bubba might have been in there.

Before I replaced the relay it did the exact same thing, just kept running, so I disconnected the relay it was fine, so I purchased a brand new one Saturday, put it on and hook the battery back up and still does it, the pump just keeps priming itself till I unplug the battery again

What happens if you pull the relay? Instead of the battery
if I pull the relay its fine, doesnt prime the fuel pump
Ok it's been years but check the oil pressure switch I belive it's on the drivers side of the distributer with two wires coming of it might be shorted out wires or a bad switch think it was ten bucks back then

If the fuel pump does not run when you remove the relay, but does run when you install the new relay, look for damaged wiring on the connector that has a short circuit (accidental connection) between the green&white wire and the orange wire.
The oil pressure switch won't cause this situation. A bad oil pressure switch would cause the fuel pump to run, regardless of whether the relay was plugged in or not.
Hey hot rod Roy, you were right I started to look at the wires and the owner connect the red and orange wires. I disconnected the two and it works great now
