So first off hello to everyone and thank you for your time. I have a 1991 C4 with basically stock everything. It has roughly 123K original miles. A few months ago right before the cycle of bad weather hit us in NC one morning I started my car and it ran horribly. Drove to work parked it and when I went to leave when I started her it was worse. I got her home and it felt like she was getting no spark so I went to pull the plugs and when I finally get to the cylinder closest to the firewall there is water on it. I am figuring my head gasket is about to go or has gone. Oh and on the start up from work she did have a little white smoke but not that much. I need new heads most likely for now I am trying to get away with just replacing that and in the meantime I can shop/look for another motor. I just want to be able to drive her again almost daily because I am tired of driving my FORD. Any suggestions? Thank you
Samo

Most likely head gasket is gone drain the coolant by takeing out your knock sensors so you don't get your opti wet And get a proper flush. Then pull all your plugs and turn it over o get the water out then put oil in all the plug holes to keep it from rusting and turn over by hand. Then pull your heads and fix. If you get to much water in it you can hydro lock it and bend things.
antfarmer is on the right track. Heads are most likely still good BUT they do need to be checked out by a shop that knows what their doing. Probably just the gasket is bad. Seems like every few weeks their is a posting with the same bad news. best of luck.
Just reread a few months ago. Sitting with water not good I would fill them with marvins mystery oil and let sit for a bit and turn by hand and hope for the best.
he has an L98
If you just want to drive it have them pull the valves, clean/check for cracks surface and try to get a few more miles out of it. up to you if you want to invest in valve job springs guides etc. Its a slippery slope
Getting it running again vs really going through them it adds up real fast. Where do you stop
