my key seems to be going bad, If I wipe it down the black chip with alcohol prior to starting the car it works with no problem if I don't the security light comes and the car will not start. Does the dealer still sell these keys? or can a regular locksmith cut them? Or can you buy them on line someone?

Keys are readily available - no problems. YEAR could be important. If you had an '86 or '87 you could possibly have a lock cylinder that hasn't been updated to newer more reliable lock cylinder and key.

Dealer or online if you buy online you will have to test for your code. Youtube will show you how. I would call the dealer first fo a price check.
