Plan on replacing hub bearings on my 96. Prices are all over the place can get all four on e bay for 2 hundred or one ac delico 5 hundred just want to ask what is every one buying i dont race the car and only put on about 3000 miles a year thanks in advance for any responses
I second Timken and Rock auto. Sometimes I go to Rock and look up part numbers, then order from Amazon prime. If it's the same price on Prime, I order from them every time. Free two day shipping is hard to beat.
Don't go cheap. Timken is probably the go to brand. Even if you're only doing 3K miles per year this is one of those parts, like the opti, you don't want to skimp on. Good luck.
Unless EBAY has a good brand name bearing like Timken, I would go to RockAuto and go for the Timken or SKF bearings.....
$98 for rear
$191 for front
Don't get the cheaper stuff from China.....
keep away from the Chinese copy's, they may be cheap but will not last more than a few months. There are plenty of sad stories of those that have experienced that on this forum.
I did my rear hub bearings in January, got hold of 2x AC Delco original old stock ones. They are good for another 20 + Years.
Do not forget to torque the spindle nut, I did mine to 165.
the original specs got changed through the years from 80 to 175 ft Pounds.
The later cars can use F-body (camaro) front hub bearings if you are willing to mount the abs washer tab a little differently...quite a bit cheaper. I think this is for 91-up. do a search under my screenname. just like PLRX- same deal- converted to f-body fronts.
