Where in heavens name is connector C 280? It is supposed to be located under the dash on the left side of the steering column but am having no luck. I don't see very well these days but I certainly not blind. Been on my back under the dash a long time now with no sighting of it and am becoming frustrated. My cruise control switch is not supplying power to the grey/wht wire #397 to energize the cruise ckt. The 3a fuse is good, and assuming the switch is good, and with the ignition on, I need to find position "A" on the connector feeding the control switch.
I wonder if your vacumme line is bad to the brake switch? Just reach up under the dash and cut the vacumme line. Then cut it at a long angle and stick some bailing wire in it. Ele tape the wire in it and lube up the hose then pull it through to the engine. Reverse to install then put a connector to the cut end. My vacumme line felt like a dead worm on the outside of the fire wall.

I think this might a a step after he gets an answer to his question so he can first check the electrical. I don't know but maybe someone can answer his question.

I don't kñow I can't see it from here but maybe a leaking vacumme line is what is keeping him from haveing power to the electrical connection.

This is helpfull by answering his QUESTION. Even if the hose IS at fault, it has not been diagnosed as the problem. You direct him to cut his hose and replace it, suggesting it is the cause. What if the connector he is ASKING about has come off? It sounds to me like he knows what he is doing troubleshooting an electrical circuit. Once he tracks down where the interruption in power is, he can THEN diagnose WHY there is an interuption. That is the proper way. You say "maybe" he has a vacuum leak. The area he is dealing with is not the most friendly spot. We hear it all the time here - "Diagnose and don't throw parts at it". That is what the OP is trying to do.

The first thing I asked was was about the hose as I can not see it.
Then I told him a easy way to fix it without tearing the car apart. Or standing on his head.
I just went through this with mine after pulling the battery, seat and dash pad still could not get in there. It turned out to be the vacumme line. Very hard to get off the brake switch. My way will save you alot of cussing and for me it would have been a ten min two dollar fix.
Mine was bad right by the firewall could not get my hand in there but the wire saved my but when it broke.
Try ajusting the brake switch too no idea where the wire is.
So just trying to share my info that is what the forum is for.

YOU learn to PHKn read! This is your first post. WHAT DOES IT SAY? Rather than answer his question, you suggest replacing something that maybe does not need replacing!

GO AWAY unless you have useful to help with his problem.

Not about to sit here all afternoon on a nice day and trade insults with you. This forum I find interesting, not a source of comfort to monitor for hours on end. Some people do use it for such. If others can point out any falsehoods I posted in this thread, they are welcome to do so.
