I realize that a fuel injected engine technically will not vapor lock. However, my '89 will show symptoms of vapor lock on a hot day. She'll start missing and surging, and will even stall when coming to a stop after letting off the gas. I have noticed that when this happens, I can crack the gas cap open and there is a lot of pressure, and the escaping fumes are hot. Is there any ideas guys have? It's bumming me out. Even though she'll fire right back up, I just don't trust here completely for daily use. As usual, thanks in advance for any help you can throw my way!

The pressure is normal. Need to do some checking could be many things from the coil , icm, lack of thermal grease evan the computer to the digital temp sensor.
I don't believe they can vapor lock.

Opening the gas cap can make it worse and induce a vapor lock. Try keeping the tank more full and see if that helps.
The recirculating fuel system cannot vapor lock. It's more like that you have an ignition issue. Wrong kind of grease or no thermal grease under the ignition module can cause your symptoms.
