sorry guys i'm having difficulty in finding my wau about the site. I am in Launceston Tasmania, Aust. i have just converted my 86 C4 to R.H.DRIVE, and my qestion is, the pipe fom the canister in the left hand front fender (in front of the left wheel) travels into the engine compartment , what does it connect to ? and where is tha connection located ?
with thanks, Don Davey.
P.S. i am hoping to have the car ready for the "Tasmanian Targa" a well known event but maybe not in the U.S.A where you all drive on the wrong side of the road !. heh, heh.
The canister in front of the LH wheel on an '86 is the emissions canister, there is a 1/4" (6.35mm) steel tubing that passes through and down the LH frame rail to the fuel tank in the rear of the car.
At what point do you have a problem? Or maybe just curious?
This long thread has information related to the charcoal canister, with a bunch of pictures I took because there were questions about how everything hooked up:
