C4 Front Spring question

C4 Front Spring question
I have an 84 C4 and I am trying to install an FJY spring but it seems too wide for my car.
Any thought on this. Are there two different length front springs??

You can use any spring that came from an '87 or earlier C4. Nothing '88+ will work. FJY I always thought was an '85 only base spring. What seems to be the problem? Just mentioning length doesn't say much except that maybe you're struggling. How long is it tip to tip relaxed? Is to wide the "width" of the spring OR are you mentioning "side to side" in the car? You mention both "wide" and "length". Pick one!!

I am referring to the OAL of the spring , sorry for confusing the terms.
Does that mean the 88 springs are more OAL?
Are the control arms is a 88+ car longer than the 84-87 cars??
