Running battery down question
The battery was run down, is this caused by the interior light or the keyless ? I have had the doors open on other cars without issue. Do I
have to disconnect the battery when I need the doors open more than a few minutes.
Thanks for your help.

A good strong battery should not have been ran down by leaving your doors open for just 2 hrs.
I asked the year, because the later years will actually shut your interior lights off after about 15 minutes or so.
Not sure when that started, but I know the '96 is like that.
I have left my doors open all day at cars shows, and the interior lights go out after a short time.
The lights would go off, but the movement of the car causing the fob to move turned them on again. Do you leave the key in the ignition? I am fairly new to this type of keyless auto lock system. I don't know the age of the battery, likely need a new one. I have not notice a starting problem until this. I have gone 5 to 6 days without starting with no problem.

Standing next to drivers door, press and hold the door button on the FOB.
After a few seconds, the locks will cycle.
If the system was on, it will now be off.
If the system was off, it will not be on.
With the system turned off, the FOBs will no longer be trying to lock/unlock your doors as your moving around.
The only time I turn my system on, is if I am going to be away from the car for any length of time.
Otherwise, I just leave it off.
