One's that work....

Need quite a bit more information, like year and suspension options you currently have.

What do you mean by best ride? Do you mean best handling, softest ride, best over bumps, etc?

For my tastes I like a stiffer shock and went with the Z51 Bilstein shocks. I have tried some KYB shocks and they are softer.

My opinion is the Bilsteins are the best and longest lasting, but cost more.

Default Shocks

I am not sure what is on my 84 but I would like a softer ride out of it the bumps tend to hit hard! I want to thank you all for your opinions !

I like My Koni adjustable's. plus. they can be rebuilt. unlike the sealed bilsteins. I see leaking / failing in the 80k range.

Bilsteins can be rebuilt.
Your KONI's should be able to go far beyond 80K miles before they are worn out.

The softest ride should come from KYB's.

Best ride? If you are looking for cheap comfort with slight performance KYB. There are lots better for racing etc.

I have KYB with like 50 miles on them if you want. I'm sick of looking at them. $50 takes them.

I don't know about costing more or longest lasting. My truck had Bilsteins. Hose for Crankcase Vent came out and blasted hot oil fumes on a shock. It leaked, Bilstein replaced. No questions asked.

Bought a set of FX3 shocks for the Vette back in 09. Front right leaked. Told Bilstein. They weren't really interested in diagnosis and wanted it sent back for inspection. Called them back and asked if they would look at the left front too. They said to send it back. A couple of hours after Fedex said they received them, I got a notification that they would be sending me a set of fronts later that day. little later, got notification that it was on the way. 2 brand new shocks arrived a few days later. I doubt they really inspected them and the return was a formality.
