CORVETTE CHALLENGE REUNION – MAY 6th
at PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY
About 10 years ago Corvette/racing aficionado Bob Mancuso had a vision. Get Corvette owners here in South Florida to have a drag racing series open to just corvettes and held at Moroso Motorsports Park. The rest is history-The Corvette Challenge was born here in South Florida.
Although the series no longer exists on a competitive level at the present facility, Palm Beach International Raceway, the many friendships formed over the years has continued and even grown in many instances.
As a result Horsepower Sales of Florida would like to reunite the group for an evening of fun, stories and even a little drag racing. The event is being planned for May 6, 2016 at PBIR. The gates open at 6:00 PM and the Challenge participants will be directed to a special parking area set aside by the great folks at PBIR.
The invitation goes out to all who participated in the Corvette Challenge and subsequent Muscle Car Challenge series. Also, if a competitor from the series no longer has a Corvette (aaahhhh!) you are still welcome. This is really a night for friendship and remembering all those great times. PBIR’s regular charge of $20 for racer and $10 for guest/spectator will apply.
Hoping that enough members will plan to come that we can have a nostalgic race amongst the members - either ladder or grudge style, depending upon how many people plan to show up. No rules/requirements/extra charge to race other than standard track rules. Please give us a heads up if you plan on coming. For those without race cars, please also come to visit with old friends and to make new friends.
We will also welcome any current Corvette owners who would like to come out and participate with us. Really, the more the merrier!
