I'd say handing him about $400 cash (I would avoid gift cards for specific vendors, as you can save a ton shopping around for various bits & pieces) would be much appreciated insurance against future "Corvette-taxed" repair items 
I'm mostly serious about that...but if you're aware of any problems with the car currently, share them and we may be able to help determine what may need some green therapy.

Need more info about the car, condition of car, and how he uses the car.
Stuff, I want for my car is very different then the stuff some other guy wants because I track my car rather then wax my car.
You are typically safe with clothing. Hats and coats with logo's are great.

does he wrench on his car? tools, or a good stainless topped metal bench can be great.
or a set of lrssons on a road course track with his car would be awesome

Impossible to know what he needs/wants without more info; but if he doesn't already have one you can order a the factory (reproduction) price sticker for his car from the National Corvette Museum. If you really want to spend more throw in a night at a nice motel two or three hours from his home.
