Default Keyless remote programming

I have a 1995 LT-1 coupe. Does anyone know how to clear the old FOB codes so that I can program my new remote? There must be 3 codes in the computer

Programming a new transmitter will "change" the code, so any previously programmed FOB's will no longer function for this car.
No need to go to the dealer for this.

Once the new transmitter is coded, the lost transmitter will not unlock your vehicle.
This also means any other transmitters that you might have.
If you reprogram one, you need to do them all at the same time.

Each vehicle can have only three transmitters matched to it.
This means 3 at any given time

To match transmitters to your vehicle:
1. Move all transmitters out of range.

2. Turn the ignition key on.

3. Push TRIP ODO on the Driver Information Center twice.

4. Within five seconds, press and hold FUEL INFO until the
PASSIVE KEYLESS ENTRY light comes on.

5. Turn the ignition off, but leave the key in the ignition.
The PASSIVE KEYLESS ENTRY light should begin to flash to show the
System is in programming mode.

6. Bring one transmitter in to range. The light will stop flashing and stay
on to show that the code is stored.

7. Move the transmitter out of range. The light should start flashing
again.

8. Repeat Steps 6 and 7 with each additional transmitter.

The programming mode will shut off if
· You don’t program any transmitters for two minutes.
· You take the key out of the ignition or turn the ignition on.
· You have programmed three transmitters.

Note: All of the above assumes you have a PKE system in working order.
If you have a bad PKE module, or other issues that prevent the completion of any listed steps then programing a new FOB isn't going to work.

I don't know what you mean about 3 codes, but it is incorrect. You can have up to 3 fob assigned at one time. The act of programming a fob deletes all earlier fobs (as Rolla said). Also, the instructions Rolla printed out for you are in your owners manual.

I reread your entry, if you think there must be three codes already assigned because you can't program your new fob I have bad news. If you try to program as Rolla said and the light never blinks chances are your receiver is bad. Check fuses 26, 40 and 42. Then follow the programming procedure and if you don't get a blinking light list what you did and everything that happened.

Default thank you

All of you are awesome! Thank you for the quick responses.

I am a new owner and the previous owner told me that the dealership informed him that a max of 3 FOBS could be programmed in a lifetime. Now I know that the 4th/new FOB should replace the old codes

I saw the steps in the manulal Your instructions, the new FOB instructions, and the manual are identicle.

That said, after I get the solid PKE light and I turn of the ignition the PKE light never flashes. Just have a black dash. Yes, I am leaving the key in the ignition. I will check the fuses and follow up.

Finally, my door and center console hatch release buttons work like I a charm.

Thanks again for the support.

Sounds like your switch might be loose. Try the procedure again but when you turn the key off keep your fingers on it and keep it pushed all the way in.

Update...I did everything exactly as you said. No joy on my end. a few weeks ago I was at my friends house and the back hatch suddenly popped open. the car was off and were all sitting on the porch.

When I closed the hatch but the release engaged every 60 seconds. I finally drove home with the hatch up.

1. pulled the 3 fusses and it stopped.
2. put the fuses back in 3 days later and it hasn't happened since.
3. However, now my power door looks don't work.
4. The center console (yellow release button between the seats) works, and the driver's door hatch release works.
5. I am waiting for the repair manual so I can trace the circuit.
6. PKU light is out

I think its the drivers door module, PKU or both.
