90 A/C Problem

90 A/C Problem
I have a 90 convertible with the climate control air conditioning. The air works fine until I hit a bump then the clutch on the compressor stops.
I checked some of the wires. Any ideas? i was hoping it would be something easy.

You might make sure that the bolt holding the magnetic pc. on is tight and properly shimmed. I lost that pc. off my 89 after replacing it, it was just missing one day. I used a lock washer the second time. I assume you checked the harness connector on top of the compressor.

That sure sounds like wiring to me. Usually its the connector right on the compressor itself. Have the engine idling, AC turned on and jiggle the wires going to the compressor to see if it makes it go on and off.

I had the same thing happen it was my low pressure switch that had worked it's way loose. It's on the passenger side on one of the lines beneath the ac compressor. The connector is round and black with a horizontal grip across the top of it. Hopefully it's the same thing as mine was and nothing serious
