On my 84 go to start up the car I hear the fuel pump running ,but won't start get my daughter to crank it turn over but no gas is coming from the fuel injectors, Any suggestions all ideas are welcome. And yes there is gas, changed the fuel filter in May of this year. Hope to hear from someone.
Also, does it have spark? Yes, I know you said 'no fuel from injectors'. However, the injectors signal to fire originates at the pick up coil. If that's bad, you won't have spark, OR fuel injection. I'd check for spark first. Easy, fast...tells you if you have a tach signal.

Fellas had the damnest thing happen, this is about the starting issue. Started to remove the distributor cap because there seem to be no spark.Had loosen up the hold down bolts for the cap when the wife need my help.Retighten down the bolts, helped her, came back and for some reason I decided to give the car one last crank before I go inside the cap, well don't you know I got spark and the car is running again. The question is do you think I should still remove and replace the cap and replace everything inside,Hope to hear from someone soon, This is baffling.
I would check the electrical connections on the side of the distributor cap. Could be the jostling of the cap while trying to remove it re-established a connection. I'd also check the condition of the wires on the tach filter. They have been known to cause no run issues.

Could you give me a possible location of the tach filter, kinda of new at this but its kind of fun getting thing fixed. Wish I had learn to work on the car earlier

Here is a link to an image of where it is in a '79. It's in the same general area on an '84 with the same electrical connections if it hasn't been removed. Mine is bad but luckily the PO just unhooked it instead of removing it. http://repairs.willcoxcorvette.com/1...ilter-picture/
