Depends on the year, I got 6 1/2" speakers in the doors of my 89 Vert w/Bose. I had to make a plate to hold the speaker which I attached to the speaker opening from the rear. The top and bottom of the square opening had to be trimmed back a bit to clear the speaker, but that was easy. The hardest part was getting the stock grilles to clear the tweeters, I made a spacer to go between the door and grill to clear them.

man i wish i had door speakers but i got a 1990 which means i have the speaker pods. i was reading that you can fit 5 1/4 inch speakers in them. so i took my speaker pods out of my car to look at them and seen that the hole is only big enough for a 4 inch speaker. so now im stumped, how would i fit a 5 1/4 inch speaker in it?
