Hello C4 experts, can anyone tell me if a 17x11 50mm offset wheel work on my stock 1987 C4. I am assuming I would have to run a spacer to keep it from rubbing somewhere. Does anyone have any experience with this?? Thanks for any info, gary
Hey, and thanks for the info.. my 1987 c4 has the z51 option so the stock wheels would have had a 38mm offset. PO had changed them to the ZR-1 A mold type wheels which are 17 inch. I am hoping that I can get these 50mm rims to fit seeing there is only 12mm difference in depth. Thanks, gary
An 11" @ 36 from a '90+ ZR-1 is a fit for "most" '87 and earlier. There's often issues with quarter liners, maybe muffler clearance issues AND EVERY FIT ON ANY CAR IS A "ONE OF" .....

Do you know what the offset is for the wheels you have now? There are two companies that make ZR-1 style wheels in 17" that have a 38mm offset. Do you have adapters installed? If so, that would indicate your current wheels have a 56mm offset.
As WVZR-1 pointed out, the original 17x11 rear wheels from a C4 ZR-1 have a 36mm offset and they should bolt on. But it's a good idea to check the fit to insure there will be no interference from things like the parking brake cable or the brake line to the caliper. The 315/35 tire should be mounted on the wheel so that you can check for any interference with the frame or the wheel well.
The GM 17x11 5-spoke wheel with a 50mm offset was used on the '96 Grand Sport coupe.
