This "new to me" '94 engine compartment lights don't work - after a little investigating found both are unplugged!! Now this raises a question since this car was well maintained - does these things have a habit of shorting out and draining the battery? My old '78 did and I left it unplugged.
They can drain the battery, and they can help you see in the dark engine bay. How long before the battery is affected is still a mystery to me. I unplug for extended work. But since converting to LED, it's one less worry.
Light output is much improved with the LEDs, but the lenses were so full of dirt, just cleaning them probably doubled the brightness.
I wanted to mount them further forward but the shape of the C4 doors make that rear spot the only real option.
Also that's the only corvette logo Ive seen. You can buy blanks and have an artist put whatever you want on them for the logo if you can find an artist to do it.

Interesting. I would like to see the art from one like yours and a blank to try and understand what is needed to make it a C4 logo.
If they are stock from the factory, they will stay on as long as the hood is open.
That is why so many people either put switches on them, unplug them, or remove the fuse.
They will never automatically shut off.
First month I owned mine, I left it at my mechanics place on a Friday to have some work done. On Monday, he said the battery died over the weekend. You know why it died. I added the simple shutoff switch to the under hood lights and leave then 'off' except when I want to use them for some reason. Saves alot of frustration over stupid moves like leaving a hood up 3 days and not noticing the underhood lights are lit.
