This is probably a dumb question, but what holds the hood up on a 1985? I just recently got it and saw nothing to hold up the hood when it's open like the prop I've seen on some other Corvettes. While searching for a replacement I saw two small struts. Are the struts the only thing that should hold it up? Thanks!

I suggest using the later model hood support/lock strut. Like this (you also need the top and bottom mounting brackets -- which are included in this listing):
The previous one probably broke or had to much strain put on it, mine was taken off by one of the previous owners and never seen again, got one from a junked 84 at a junkyard (it was bent where the little tooth on the support clicks into the slot) Bent the metal back and it works just fine.
Cliff that's what I did on my 85, also switched it to driver side, on the passenger side made no sense to me. Easy install, hood already has mounting bolts, just have to make sure the lines in that area on the frame rail are clear of bracket
