My C4 is currently my toy car, and I have a very nice F150 for a daily driver. It's really nice, amazingly comfortable, and all that stuff. It's also incredibly boring to drive, and a VERY expensive truck. Nice for winters and comfortable and all that, tows my jet skis super easily, the bed is sort of nice for fishing and whatnot. But it bores the ever loving crap out of me to drive it.
So I'm thinking of trading it for a new Subaru STI. It would be sort of my "do all" vehicle, a daily driver, tow my jet skis, and a fun car to enjoy. So that makes my C4 sort of redundant, so I'd likely sell it.
This whole arrangement would save me ~150 a month. I really enjoyed driving the STI, it's a fun car I can drive year round, and historically they hold value and are reliable (unless beaten on or modded heavily). I'm getting a really good deal on the STI, and a fair trade in price on my truck. Downside would be ordering the STI would take 2 months or so.

Having been in the same boat, so to speak, with needing a 4wd winter vehicle here in NY. Over the last 6 years I have had two Toyota tacomas, two highlanders and a charger r/t awd. There is no replacement for a pickup truck. You just will not get that space back in another vehicle. For those few times that come where you really need a truck you will kick yourself in the **** for getting rid of it. I know I do lol. I think the subarus are pretty good in the snow but they are much smaller inside than your F-150 and I'd bet that you will feel that short wheelbase while driving it. The F-150's are pretty plush riding trucks, much like my tacomas were. I can definitely tell the ride difference between the tacoma and highlander. I get the new car bug about every year lol, but I'm sticking with my highlander, paying it off and then getting a ZR1.
Sounds like you have things figured out for your situation. Nice to have a pickup but they are not the best on gas and can be a pain to park etc. Cheaper to get a small utility trailer for the times when you would need a bed but sounds like for 99% of your driving needs a STI will do the job.
I've got a F150, a Vette, a T-Bird and a van. You could get rid of everything, find something you like for most of your driving and rent something else when the need arises.
Personally all my vehicles are paid for, insurance on the Vette and Bird are only a couple hundred a year, so I'm happy with my current arrangements.
I agree that you should stay out of car debt. Buying a 'brand new' car is very expensive due to depreciation. From a financial perspective a good used car that is 2-3 years old is a much better choice, if you choose to go the STI route.
On fun level I drive a modded CTS-V every day and I still very much enjoy driving my C4 as a fun car. Some people might say my C4 is 'redundant' but I don't find that at all, they are very different driving experiences.
Also Having Access to a truck is nice though, so many things it can do that a car can't especially if you haul stuff or even need to go to home depot an get a few sheets or plywood, try doing that is a car...

Interestingly enough, the new STI would be the same price, maybe cheaper than a used one. I can't explain it, but used STIs sell for more than if you order a new one. My best guess is that they're an impulse buy for most people, and so if it's on the lot for stock they sell them at full price or more, whereas if you're ordering one they'll cut you a deal. It's nuts.
I've pretty much decided, I went to take the C4 for a drive today and it decided to punish me for not having driven it lately by not co-operating and starting. It probably needs new spark plugs, but it's irritating to not be able to drive it on a nice day like today.
