I don't think they can get any cheaper down here in FL - $1900

A beaten to death 300k+ mi toyota gardening truck gets 4-5k easy

C4s just arent in demand, only by a C4 enthusiast pretty limited market

Why isnt it Ok that they are cheap? If they increased in value by 1000 or so its it going to change anyones life, no wasted energy worrying about it. Just drive it

"Collector" cars are not bought for 5 and 10 grand typically

Try not to look at your car as a savings account if ya need to probably best to own something more cost effective
Oh I aint complaining. If I was selling I might be complaining a little but just got my C4 I'm actually glad they are so inexpensive, that's how I was able to afford mine as "my weekend car" lol

That's crazy those little Toyota trucks can fetch 4-5k. I guess we might undervalue utility. How useful valuable and versatile a car is to the avg person who just needs it to commute and run errands and haul stuff. That's a big factor that affects prices.. hence the little trucks and how old high mileage Civics, Accords and Camry's are still 5-10k

Ding, Ding, Ding!!!

After THROWING utility out the window, consider the multitude of sports-car choices...Jags, Beamers, Mercedes, 60's muscle, etc... I think most value the uniqueness of what they pick for a "sportscar". Let's call it a toy?

We're still 20-30 years from "weaning" the C4 generation down to the valuable early C3 generation...You know, before emissions. Even then, C4's weren't considered "macho" in terms of engine performance for THEIR generation. And, And, And, there are TONS more C4's than those C3 muscle Vettes.

We are so far away, it's just not going to happen anytime soon!

Factor in what might happen with gasoline, fuel, electric cars, and technology during those 30 years it would take to make C4's way more interesting to look at and what do you think will really happen? Will C4's EVER draw the attention of those rare BBC Vettes?

I'm going to say the C4 will draw a lot of attention 20-30 years from now bc of the era: 80s & 90s (though really a late 70s/80s design and advanced 80s n 90s tech.)

The 80s and early 90s was when the supercar became popularized no? I know for sure it was when supermodels started becoming more celebrity than just models (been studying some photography). And it was when hip hop & rap blew up which had a huge impact on American culture. It was also when the NBA was "saved" by Magic and Bird and then the crown handed over to MJ the GOAT. Its been 32 yrs since that man was drafted and ppl still almost unanimously call him the Greatest Ever.

What I'm sayin is I think the 80s hold a special place in ppls hearts.. well I think so?? And I'm not saying that bc I lived thru and partied in the 80s lol I partied in the 2000s. Shiz I still have more partying to do haha love the 80s though

Here in southwest Florida, '84 Vettes in decent shape are listing for around $3000 to $4500. Beaters are $2000 or less. '85 and up are a little more.

I just bought a 1992 6 speed LT1 (mechanically perfect) w/ a crappy paint job and all new weatherstripping and window tint also needing basic seats/carpet for $4000. It will look like new for around $6000 when I'm done. I'll paint it this winter (it's my hobby). It's amazing what you can get for your money.

And it's true. I can't make myself look at craigslist because I'm afraid I'll find an even better deal.

I take it you think my prices are high? You should check out the prices from other ZR-1 parts sellers. I know where a 91 ZR-1 is for $8500 if you think you want to give it a shot.

29,000 miles, and has frame damage in the rear. The motor is worth 5K... I could be fixed and be worth 16 to 20K

Its unreal. I looked for the extra cab 80s era for a year
Finally gave up
Last one I saw was in Newhall. In person...worst used car Ive ever seen in my life. Honestly
May be picking up a nice cln low mi 2002 e320 for 2k or better this weekend. Sure not a truck or sportscar but still, nice ride for the money. When they break throw em out and get another one.

Low mile and clean? That is a deal! I just saw a 98 Chyrsler Sebring... forget which model... nice little 2 door with the luxury package... super clean... old guy was driving it.

No Mercedes, however, it would be a good commuter...

Just sitting here watching the Barrett-Jackson auction show on TV and a super clean 86 C4 convertible just sold for $9K, but I've got no idea how old the show is.

When the top goes down the price goes up... have you heard that one before?

Do you feel you fgave it away at that price? perhaps... so my old ZR-1 with 145K on it and running great is only worth about 7K? It also needs paint work. The turn signal mechanism is also giving me problems again.

I fixed it once about 3 years ago... I was able to get someone to sell me the part which I was lucky to get... now it did the same thing. No parts are availible that i have been able to locate.
