What's the deal with them? Maybe it's just me but I have gotten NOTHING from them besides weird looks (And one thumbs down, I have a thread about it started back in 2015). I have passed multiple C7's lately in my C4 and not one has waved. I passed a red C7 today sitting at a red light as I was turning past him and I had my arm out the window waving and he stared right at me and didn't even move. Maybe it's because C7 guys are not true "car guys"? Must be the C7 is a cool car to them and that's all. I get waves from every other generation but the C7. I haven't gotten ONE wave back from that gen.
Not whining about it at all I just find it surprising, anyone else see the same pattern?

I went on a cruise this weekend with :
2006 mustang GT mods
2015 Scat Pack
1996 CE
and my car.
My car drew the most attention from all and it's a ratty looking beater, but people seem to appreciate the way it's done. I got stopped mid traffic and complemented.
I got way more waves then I gave back. I revved at them or my passenger waved and he is not a car guy.
In fact the passenger asked "do corvette people have to wave or something?" I said yes or people get hurt feelings.
You want their attention? Buy a relevant car, that is obviously what they are in to.
I don't care to be noticed, but I want a fun car... With that comes attention.
Past 40+ years I've had classic, customs, hot rods, and muscle cars - we all wave at each other - even corvettes sometimes - because of the love and dedication we have for our cars, and knowing the sweat blood and tears we've gone though to own and drive our cars. Maybe the C7 guys don't fit in this group because as expensive as they are - they mainly require just money to own. Think about it. I wave at all "special" cars and always will.
Theres nothing inherently wrong with it. I just don't like to draw attention to myself and don't like being reminded that driving a corvette promotes something besides this outcome.
Look at it this way... I didn't ask for permission, need another's input, or requesting their approval what kind of car I'm driving.
If there is a visual and positive response... that's nice.
If not... am not losing sleep over it.
YES!!
Adding to it. You didn't pay for this car. Your opinion is meaningless UNLESS you really know your stuff. In fact, with most people, they are so clueless, I'd much rather they didn't notice me.
I don't mind being the first to extend my hand of friendship. If you want to be friends, great. IF not, you can go fawk yourself.
C4 & C7 owner here. I wave like hell in either car. I can also flash my head lights on my C7. I consider myself fortunate as I have never had a "bad" wave from a fellow Corvette owner and that would sicken me.
i have buddies that work at summit racing equip and chevrolet dealers. i hear the same thing that corvette owners are the most arrogant cockiest people. they dont like the car either because of the people /culture.
even though i own a lowly c4, i have to convince new people i meet (ex. mustang guys or mechanics at shops) that i am not one of 'those' corvette guys. i assure them the corvette guys they hate no longer drive c4s and have long moved onto newer models.
the wounds run pretty deep here. i used to hang out on off-topic but newer c5/6 corvette owners would say stuff like 'oh look he drives a c4' if they didnt agree with what i said.
i saw the arrogance the worst with c5. in fact c5 was where people started calling it c5 instead of 'corvette'. before c5, you just said you had a corvette and what year. c5 owners disnt want their pride and joy associated with the rough riding, tough egress, cramped corvettes of the past .
all this said, i have actually gotten waves from c7 owners.
ill never forget about when i blew a tire on my c4 and pulled into a golf course. a c6 drove in, and said something to his passenger about not having to worry about that with his car - all without stopping to help.
a buddy of mine owns a 2015 mclaren (he traded in his gallardo bc it was too slow) and he told me the exotic car guys are a friendlier crowd than the (new) corvette crowd.
i am sorry if this post of mine is a downer, but the truth hurts sometimes. corvette guys need to work on their image. we are not thought highly of (even by newer corvette guys -and thats the saddest part)

Kinda true. I have had new parts guys wonder if I am one of those corvette owners who have all kinds of "I love my Corvette" keychains, etc, etc. And yes, they do seem to "eat their young". I'm a C6 guy. You azzholes are scum. Once I become a C7 guy, my C6 buddies can go to hell.
I think the "new" guys with their C7's thought they were just buying a car, when they really bought into a friendly community. They just need to see a little courtesy so they can learn what courtesy means!
If I see a very nice older car, I give them a thumbs-up, even if it's a Mustang! I've gotten a lot of surprised smiles! I gave a nice custom Mustang a jump-start at the Disneyland Half-Marathon yesterday. The owner was surprised a Corvette guy would give him the time of day! I say: Share the fun!!
