I have been slowly replacing the exterior bulbs with LEDs. I have the 4 side cornering light replaced and happy with the lighting. I have a set of Reverse LEDs in the main locations, but they are not very good. I want a set that actually will project light.. not just turn on 'for show'
Has anyone for a good set of LEDs for this location? if not LED, then what did you use

Did you have to modify the corner light LEDs to get them to fit correctly ? Where did you get them from
LEDs are like a flashlight. They have a very sharp beam with no light emitted to the side. The way to get around this is to put in multiple LEDs pointed in all directions.

Found some on eBay, I forget if you have to modify them, I am thinking yes.. when I have time I will look at them

I believe the issue with reverse lamps is how the socket is located in the lamp. I don't believe that all C4's are the same, I think likely 3 different sets. If the socket is "side entry" you can't use a projection bulb and the link Cliff provided would be the usual approach. If the socket were a "rear entry" you could use a "projection bulb" that WORKS. Are there bulbs similar to what Cliff linked that have greater/more intense lighting? Maybe. Do you modify the housing and the reflector/reflecting surface of the housing? Likely the only way to create a "functional beam" for actually using them as you hint you'd like.
What about separating the housing and placing a board of LEDs in the housing and gluing it back together.
if the light is projected they will work, I have LEDs I believe they seem bright, but don't project.. I might try the Morimotos, that might be just what I need
