Default Anyone using the LTCC?

My opti is bad on my 93. Most likely, I'll use the LTCC kit. To those that use it, how has it been? Will I still have the Tach needle, abs and traction control?

I don't have it, but you'll retain all those features.

Realize; you still need a functioning Opti to make the LTCC work.

I have the LTCC in The Ghost.

To buy the LTCC is one thing, then there are many other steps that will follow.

The plate for the valve covers, the hardware, the coils, wiring routing, new spark plug wires, location, and how to route the main connection to the control box.

I wish I had a before, and after dyno run to compare. When I got it I ran thru many walls. Patrick helped me with few issues, the vendor is a very impatient guy.

I bought the bracket from this people
https://www.eficonnection.com/home/c...ket-assemblies

Their website listed the Corvette, I bought it, and it didnt fit on the driver's side. Their wiring was backwards, the engine backfired, and damaged the de-screened MAF. I was very upset, and send them a nasty email. I told them to do their homework before tell people it fits a vehicle listed in their website.

shortly after all that back & forward emails this was added to their website.

* LT1/LT4 Corvette black composite plastic valve covers have a unique attaching bolt grommet that will not directly allow for mounting our coil bracket on top of the valve covers.

I lost money on those parts. I ended up on a CNC shop, designed a template, and they did it on aluminum.

Do this, buy the vented AC Delco opti spark, and add the vacuum lines for your 94.

See PLRX's response. It eliminates the high resolution side of the optispark. In theory, it'll be more reliable.

Nice install. Thanks, yeah I've been asking Patrick about it to.

It does not eliminate the high resolution side of the optispark. The LT1 PCM will still need a High Res/Low Res signal. The only think it eliminates is the "distributor" portion of the optispark. You will no longer have a distributor on your car once you install the LTCC. Please see thread for all info:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...onversion.html

My car through a code 16 with the LTCC hooked up about a month ago. I was pi$$ed because I did this as a reliability mod. Turns out the Petris opti wasn't sealed well enough and my water pump oil seal was letting oil wick past the opti seal which coated the optical sensor with an oil film. I cleaned the sensor and optical wheel with rubbing alcohol and all is well again!

I read that thread carefully last night. Then realised I was wrong on it eliminating the high resolution. Think I'm gonna go with the AIP opti. You, IMO, have the cleanest install. So I'll ask for lots of help

Sorry, didn't see your reply! I like that kit, but you need an LS1 PCM. And for the price, not worth the time and effort. In my opinion. And I believe you loose traction control and ABS with the 24x.

Got my LTCC yesterday. And got the LS1 coil packs a few days ago. I ordered the same(as TorchTarga94) brackets, and LS1 coil pack relocation harness off CBM. I received my new opti today, but I might return it, see pic below. This is an Opti from saccitycorvette, they sell them from AIP Electronics. It came out of the box wet. It's actually some kind of grease. It smells like grease/oil and feels like it to.

PLRX, did you remove the rotor from the opti?

No, I let the opti in place.

Many told you to buy the Petris, AC, or Delphi. It is good to listen to 30 year old advise. Other optis have a great fail history in the forum. I bought the MSD optis in 2008, and I'm one of the few with no issues.

To those that have it, how did you route the plug wires away from the EGR? I still don't have my plug wires. I'm just doing measuring for now. Opti install is done. Just waiting for the Samco hoses.

I finished my LTCC conversion about a week ago and the install wasn't that bad. The one thing that wasn't clear was how to hook up the tach feed if you have a tach filter.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1593774555

here is my install. I'm currently using the same wires I used when I used the optispark as a distributor. ran out of time to order some cut your own wires.

Cool! Yes I finished mine last Sunday. If you do order some, get from Magnecor.

Thats what I'll do down the road, I want to get some use out of the Current wires since they're not that old. haha What do you think of the conversion? I think my car may idle a little smoother, not sure though. Now, the hope is it'll be more reliable

I noticed a bit more smoother idle with a warm engine. Throttle response seems perfect, and pulls a tad bit nicer above 3k RPM's.
