First thanks to any and all who take time to help people like me solve problems big and small. My 1985 L98 new to me, starts and runs fairly well, seems a little rich, but wasnt getting any service engine soon lights or anything so thought i was doing well. Noticed today that my O2 sensor on driver side exhaust pipe was burned through, obviously not connected but no engine lights were showing so i thought that was odd. Pulled the cover off the panel that has the lights and found someone had removed the light and socket behind where it would read service engine soon. Figured someone was trying to ignore or hide a service code. I took the socket from the seat belt warning light and put it there and read codes expecting the worst. Only code i get is code 14, engine coolant sensor, low. Can someone point me to the sensor so i can check it. There is a sensor just above the water pump under some hoses with two wires to it, is that the one that feeds the ECM? The sensor between cylinder 7 and 8 has nothing connected to it , and the one by cylinder 1 has a one wire but i cant see exactly where it goes. Also if my O2 sensor wire is burned out shouldnt i get a trouble code. Also is there a part number known for that engine coolant sensor, should be cheap might as well replace it and see what it does. Thank you in advance

I believe that is the sensor you are looking for according to
IF it were me, I'd replace that O2 sensor and not dink around with it maybe or maybe not sending a code. Maybe it hasn't grounded enough to send a code. Who knows. Is it south of the plug or north? Either way, replace the sensor. If it is north, get a new plug with wire and SOLDER and heat shrink it in.
If your 85 is like my 86, the low coolant sensor is right below the radiator cap on the passenger side on the radiator. It's a spade connecting sensor that just locks into a fitting on the radiator. IIRC, it has a green wire that plugs onto it. The sensor just plugs into the fitting and has an O ring on it.
I was having problems with mine for a while, turned out to be the horseshoe shaped hose that fits between the TPI and block behind the water pump was leaking. Here's a tip, if you use Prestone yellow/green antifreeze, leaks show up under a black light.
If yours is the same problem, here's the hose I got at Autozone (wasn't the easiest to track down).
Ill check that out tomorrow , had to put this repair on back burner for a day as my jeep blew a rear brake cylinder, between a jeep and this corvette, lots of repair time, but keeps the mind young
