Can't shut headlights off I push the switch in and I get no response so I disconnected the battery so it wouldn't kill it for the morning this is my daily driver any help would be appreciated! Thanks Luci

Sounds like a switch. If you do not know how to check it then find someone that can do it for you.
There is a harness connector near the front of each inner fender. Check for corrosion in the connectors and for frayed/broken wires too.

Thank you! It's a 1987 z52. I brought it to my mechanic the dash was cracked behind switch! The switch was still good! Now the headlights have a problem they never had before one flips half way up and the other doesn't flip up at all. What do ya think? Thank you!

In all likelihood you can rebuild them or replace them totally - your call. Check around here, I've seen threads on others that have replaced the plastic gears (also pucks in some cases) and didn't look terribly hard but I have not done it myself.
