what did you cut pins with and why? Where at on the pin do I cut
I cut the pins with a air cut off wheel. But use what ever you can where you can. You have to becouse the factor swedged the pin at the top
i guess I confused, and don't see the whole picture. I don't understand by cutting the pins, how does that enable me to get pens out if they are swedged in Do I have to make two cuts in each pin to make room for pin to come out upward. Is there room for new complete pin to go back in from top. Looks like inside of door will interfere. I have new pin set coming in tomorrow from rock auto, so I will have a better look at how pin is made
that's how I did mine. I left my door closed.took off the hinge (3 bolts on door, 3 on body) cut the pin in the center, and pulled the top out the top and the bottom out the bottom.
I replaced with the doorman kit that has the little retainers.
ok, so need to first take off hinge from door and body, then replace pin. I think I understand now. I thought I was replacing pin with hinge still attached to car. When you put hinge back on, was there any adjustment that had to be made?
mlm0 I would mark the hinge with masking tape that way it goes back on exactly where it was when taken out off. Do the same on the door side. Door close and one at a time. Hope this helps. TIA
