It's becoming more and more rare by the day, look at all the posts on here saying they are second owners.

I'm no different, I'm second owner of my 1990 ZR-1. Have everything from the original purchase, from pizza box, attache case, and window sticker, to temp plates from when he bought it. 25k miles.

My 92? I'm 4th or 5th. Not totally sure, but there's not a whole lot special about the car other than she was my first and more importantly; she's mine.

First thought is that the ZR-1 owner spent a lot more money which is why he kept it and was original owner, but then I'd tell you he had a 95 ZR-1 as well that he was selling as original owner. Bought himself a brand new Z06 because "it was finally a new model that spoke to him."

Guess it all depends as to what tickles you and the wallet in order to let them go.

You really don't see the number of C4s on the road anymore like we used to. Attrition may be thinning the once huge herd down to a number of remaining good cars where the condition of the Op's car will be rare, desireable and valuable.

I am the 2nd owner of my car. Up until July 2016 it was a one owner car. 11,800 miles when I acquired it. I have the original sales sheet from the dealership when the woman bought it for her 50th birthday in 1996.

It has some small issues I have been correcting due to sitting so much.

Probably pretty rare. Really cool at a minimum.

Sad thing for a younger guy like me (30) is I realize I will never be the original owner of anything really cool. I bought my truck new and my STI new, but they weren't as cool as a Vette or a Boss 302 or anything like that.

The days of cool cars that are affordable brand new are long gone, and I do pretty well for myself.

I'm the original owner of my '90 with a twist. I sold it in 2013 and bought it back in 2016. In between I bought a new '13 and a '74 stick vert. Both are gone Would you call that stupid or nuts? By the way, I love her dearly.

Probably not true. The other fascination (besides Corvettes) I have is AC Cobra replicars. You might want to look into something along those lines as they are really cool.

You don't have to power it with a Ford motor, a 427 or a 454 or one of the LS engines.

Building one of these is now out of my life playbook, but if things had gone a little differently (orthopedic healthwise) I would have seriously considered one of these.

I got my ZR1 from the original owner. He had the pizza box, lots of documents and the original Bill of sale.

It was THE reason I bought this particular car. For me buying from the first owner was as close as I could get to being the original owner.

Funny thing about life is you never know...5 - 10 years down the road something might come out you think is really cool...probably won't be cheap...but you might be doing even better for yourself!

One owner since December 1985. I ordered it in September and it came in just before Christmas. I picked it up on Christmas eve.

Default One owner

I bought my '86 right off the showroom floor. Actually the lot; as I was driving by I saw it sitting there. I had a '69 convertible and was waiting for Corvette to come out with another vert. And there she was. White with red leather interior! I drove it home! I was single at the time and it became my daily driver. I was 46 years old at the time; am now 77 and 31 years and 220,000 miles later she is still mine! New seats, new paint, and a glass back window plus various other items she still fires up and is raring to go. I've been in Corvette Clubs all my Corvette life and she still wins show trophies whenever I enter her. But those new C-7's are really looking good! Anybody out there want a pristine '86? I'd let her go for the right price.
