I have to admit, it was kind of an impulse thing for me, even though I wanted one for years. I bought it when it was two years old with 3k miles on the clock. I probably should have bought a brand new one but was too cheap at the time.
In '86 I was a stubborn car dealer and $500 away from a new 86 IROC-Z when I had a moment of clarity and saw an 82 Vette in the paper.....went and spent 4 hours "dealing" on that and was $500 away from a deal when I had another moment of clarity and decided to go look at the used 84 Vette at another dealer.....and made a deal in 10 minutes. Have had many cars come and go since then but they were all just garagemates for my vette.
I've been in a vette family all my life so it was natural for me to own one as soon as i could afford one. I sold my 92 Z28 to buy my 95 LT-1 6spd. Best thing i could have ever done! :D
