Genssi LED Projector headlights in 85
One down one to go. I thought my existing headlights were acceptable, but after seeing the test in the garage to compare the two -- wow
I was a little nervous spending this much money on the lights without seeing them and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Genssi lights. If you are on the fence with doing this converesion, do it
I'm going to align them 40 feet out. With people running projector lights, is this adequate?

I have something weird -- the high beams stay on all the time. It is not the switch because the other OEM bulbs respond to the hi/low switch.
FYI - I'm using their SPI resistor.
The pigtail (yellow/black) is not being used, since there is nothing to plug in to. Does the pigtail need to be used?
Unfortunately there is no help line number for Genssi....
Any ideas / suggestions?

I wish I had mine installed,That way I could help you answer your question. Mine got lost in shipping & they had to send me another pair. I just haven't had any free time because I am in the middle of moving.

Just got off the phone with their customer service -- very responsive. They are going to email a troubleshooting guide.
He had me check the H4 pins, he said sometimes they are out of order (left and right flipped) -- mine are correct.
Just waiting for the email guide.

I did the bench test they recommended. They suggested I return the bulbs as it looks like they are not compatible with the 85 wiring.
That sucks - I fell in love with these........

I temporarily tied in a 12v bulb and that did not resolve it either.
I went with the 6ohm resistor in lieu of cutting the wires, the support guy at Genssi had me do the various wire tests and double checked the pins to make certain they are aligned correctly.
It is a blast turning wrenches, but I HATE electrical.

circuit doctor procedure
I think I'll pick up a couple H4 extension cables and tie in 168 bulbs to both lights at the same time and see if this works. When I did my earlier 12v bulb test that was only on one light, it may have not been enough load on the sysem.
I do not want to cut into the new GENSSI light wires or the harness. The extension cable will be perfect for the test.

I did the "Circuit Doctor" fix with the 168 bulb tied in and everything is working perfectly
Now I'm waiting for it to get dark so I can dial them in against the garage wall. I have the car backed up 40 feet. At 40 I'm going to have it so the projector light low beam line breaks about knee level (at the wall).
Is this the best way to do it? Any suggestions
Low beam before alignment
