First Vette!
Hey everyone looking at getting my first vette and am planning on taking a look at one today. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/6087652407.html
Anyone have anything in particular I should look for? Or any thoughts on the car? Looks like a steal just kind of worry if maybe its too good to be true?
Found out its actually an 89 even though the post says 86

Melting Slicks
It does seem too good to be true. But then again with 2 cylinders missing they can't ask too much.
Seriously though, hope that was a mistake, otherwise the seller doesn't know what he's talking about.
Could it be a bait ad to get you to show up with cash and rob you?

Not sure, but I am not going to have the cash on me until after I see the car. Meeting up at a big parking lot where my bank is at so I wont pull the money out unless I am satisfied with it. Also he was about an hour away from where I live and happened to be having to work out here so he drove the car down to where I live so obviously the car is roadworthy if he made the hour drive down.

LOL didnt even notice the 6 cylinder part. I was wondering the whole bait thing too. We are meeting in a public parking lot where my bank is at, told him I will pull out the cash after test drive. He ended up driving it up to where I live which is about an hour north of where I live since he was working out here anyways.

So I just picked it up!! Will post more pics when I get off work. Runs good took for a pretty long ride never really got to top speed but did lots of neigborhood driving to feel the tranny shift. Body looks straight. Interior is pretty much immaculate other than the drivers seat. Sounds like it needs brake pads though because I can hear a little noise from the right rear wheel that sounds like the typical pad rubbing. Biggest negative I could find was that the AC dosent work. Guess that means lots of top down driving

Actually he drove up to where I was and we met at the parkinglot where my bank was. Let him know I would grab money afterwards and he was pretty down to earth and didnt even ask to see any money before handing me the keys for a test drive just asked to hold onto my license.

thanks.... the wife gets home in 30 minutes... bracing for the fallout.... we came to an agreement a couple of days ago, by agreement she didnt flat out say no. But didnt tell her I was picking it up today As of last night I told her I was debating on this one or taking out a small loan and getting a c5 for 10K. So overall she should be happy it was cheaper!
