Console shift plate 1995 C4
I ordered an aftermarket console shift plate for my 1995 vette. When i received it, it was a matte black.. my console and dash are gloss. I was told that the O.E. shift plate is matte or flat black. Someone who has a 95 tell me if this is correct. I dont want to put the matte black shift plate in unless that was what it was originally. Im debating whether to send it back to vendor, even if it was a decent deal at $140, no tax, no shipping charges.

The originals had a kind of flat rubber like coating on them called Dulso that did have a little more reflective shine to it than your aftermarket plate shown. The dulso is kind of a rubbery coating that gets damaged easily too, so I'm not really a big fan of it for what I'd call reasonable durability for an interior trim coating.
I kind of like your trim surface but then you'd have to do the rest of your interior to match, and that's kind of labor intensive for you when what I'm sure you wanted was bolt-on matching pieces.
