I've never been pleased with the look of the 8.5 inch wheels on the front of later C4s, and since I just bought my collector edition wheels and brand new tires, I'm kind of stuck with them.
Has anyone considered or tried putting early C4 wheel adapters on the front to bring the 8.5 wheels more even with fender.
Just a thought, as I'm not even sure how thick the adapters are. It seems that a half inch would do it.
I don't know about the adapters but any specialty wheel outlet/shop should be able to sell you a spacer any width you want for probably alot cheaper than you can buy the C4 adapters, unless you find them used. Just a thought.
I had considered that, but I was concerned that there would not be enough wheel stud left to hold the wheels on safely. My understanding of the adapters its that they bolt on to the existing studs and then have anohter set of studs to mount the wheels to. Can anyone clarify this?

The adapters are not really reccommended for anything harsh. However, with street use, they should be okay. Most adapters though are made to adapt for one bolt pattern to another.

You can buy longer and stronger studs if that is the case, although like Sharky said I would not recommend them for anything hardcore.
or you could do like I did and put 9.5 rims on the front.
Mine car came with the 8.5s up front, and when I bought the A-molds, I went 9.5 all the way around... I have never liked the 8.5s on the front, looks a little wimpy to me.

Does anyone know how thick these adapters are?
Never mind, I checked Summit, and they are listed as 1" thick, which is too much.
I would vote for the longer studs and spacers........ I used some adapters on a hot rod truck once and when I finally bought some wheels that bolted right on we couldn't get the adapters off because the studs had BENT. We had to cut them with a torch. Also if I remember right they don't allow adapters at the drag strip..........must be something there........... :seeya
