Hello, i have a one car garage and i want to restore a C3. I have my 1992 C4 in the garage always. Has anyone had this problem and came up with a solution in how to manage restoration without a garage!!! The town i live in has strict laws such as no car tents ( 4 poles and a roof ). if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, it'll be a big help! thanks in advance :seeya
Buy a tarp and a car cover. Keep the car wrapped when it sits outside. IT should be okay. I did that when I lived in an apt in Oklahoma. I only worked on the 65 vette when it was warm enough. And I accomplished quite a bit in about 6 months doing a complete brake job, interior restoration, a motor and trans overhaul and I stripped the paint before I sent the car to the paint shop.
One vette goes in the garage whenI go away, the other goes with me.
My Dodge that I've been trying to restore sits outside on the grass with a cover on it.
In my town, no cars are allowed on the grass at all. Any cars that are being repaired must be covered when you are not working on them. A car can't be apart for more than 48 consecutive hours. Lots of rules in my town, I don't pay attention to all of them. It also depends on your neighbors.
Rent a storage garage...then you could put your C4 in there if you have a daily driver. Or put the C3 in there and work on it.
Years ago I actually found a mini-storage place that allowed people to run subversive propaganda printing operations and woodshops and soforth in their units. I had a car up on stands in there for over a year, pulled the motor and trans. Those things never have power or lights though, so you have to try to get one near an outlet box.
