I agree - great price for a low mod Vette.

It looks like the Stage III will come in around $2,300+ using my existing converter. The converter will be sent out to be inspected/refreshed.

I love C4s as well, which is why I said I'd buy a zf6 car. What's the torque rating for your stage 3 trans?

I'm going to need to ask, I'm not sure.

Nice Aspen, I've seen a few with mopars with 440's in them over the years.

I've owned a few mopars over the years. From coronets, super bees, road runners, chargers, 300's and duster/darts. Lots of dodge trucks with cummins under the hood.

Some started with big blocks, most where converted to big blocks.

Keep us posted on the vette, I'm putting in an 05 LQ9 6.0 engine into my 85 vette/700r. So my transmission is on borrowed time.

What would you give to have any of them back!

Heading to the shop later to check in on things. They said they were going to pull the existing trans in prep for the new one - it is on order. Had to do this anyway so the TC could be sent out for inspection.

Make sure that you get the trans cooler and line flushed. You using the newer style GM transmission connectors (quick connects)?

Curious on what stall your going with?

The only car I wish I kept was the 69 dodge super bee, just so I could sell it for more money. The rest I don't miss.

The C4 vette is the only car I want right now.

Swung by B3R earlier, the Stage III replacement trans is on its way back to them. Should be there today/tomorrow I hope.

FYI -- The convertor is a 12" 2,300/2,600 stall with anti-ballooning plates (had to double check the paperwork). It was sent out for a teardown, they went through it and it looked good. I'm running the large Dehrale with a fan cooler in the right rear quarter, so those large -AN lines will be drained too.

Hope to get the car back next week

Good luck with the new tranny. I've been using a Rossler 4l80e for the past 3+ years. Up until then, it was a new tranny or rebuild every year. This one has been great except for a broken hardened input shaft a couple of years ago that is now a billet unit. I have over 600 mid-low 10 second runs on this unit with a Precision Industries Vigilante converter.

I'll keep my fingers crossed - the stage III should be stout enough for the new motor and blower combo; I'm not planning to hit this set-up with NOS. No more money for this car!!!!

My plans for the Vette is to cruise and show, the Dodge is the monster in the garage now.

Should be fine then. Is the Dodge a quarter miler or a track car? If the former, what does it turn? It sure looks fast. Very unique.

Quarter/eight car. Still getting the suspension set-up and the twin turbo HEMI broke in. At low boost we are 572 at the tire, we are running the boost low during break in, then we'll tighten her up after the suspension is dialed in. With the set-up under the car and the drag tires no reason for low 10's all day long.

Still have some minor issues we will tackle next week. The most recent is cooking the gas, the return is a free fall to the fuel cell. We will make a tube to get the return under the fuel level. Once the gas cavitates the Holley screams! The current freefall return is on the left side of the fuel cell in the image, the line on the right goes to a charcoal canister.

Do you run foam in your cell? I do not, and the cell is not baffled.

Yes, my cell has foam. So with the return dumping into the top of the cell, you are creating bubbles? With the foam, I haven't had any fueling problems, even down to the last gallon.

Very awesome, how did the 4L80 fit in the car? What controller you using for the 4L80?

My 700R is slipping in 2nd gear when ever I get past 1/4 throttle.

I was thinking about running 11in 2500 stall converter from TCS. I've run a bunch of converters over the years, they seem to be one of the few that can make one that works as it should.

On the broken input shaft? Was it a 300m billet piece?

I'm not sure on what I want to use for a transmission right now.

Spoke with B3R yesterday about the replacement Stage III 70R4 transmission, it is still in transit. As soon as it arrives they will get it installed.

FYI - they did flush the system to include the large remote Dehrale cooler. I requested that they charge the system with Royal Purple, I've heard good things about that product but have ever used it.

I was not happy with the OEM shifter, the gear selection did not feel like a true positive lock to me. We're thinking that was possibly why the other transmission fried.

So what we are doing is installing B&M Stealth Pro Ratchet shifter in the car. This is not a drop in install, a recessed "bucket" was fabricated to lower the shifter almost three inches. These photos are of the shifter sitting in there loose. The plan is to have everything finished early next week. This is an awesome shifter, I'm using this also in my pro-street Dodge.
