I had knee surgery on the right and can no way get into my 89. The weather is beautiful here, the top is off and the AFSB bar bolted in. The vette is clean and waxed and here I sit with ice on my knee. I'm done whining for now...thank you.

If it makes you feel any better, my son and I took his 92 out to the beach and then back over Mt Tamalpais today. Hopefully you'll be back in the cockpit soon!

That stinks, I hope you have a speedy recovery. I will put a few extra miles on mine for you, might even drive it to work tonight.

Had knee surgery in dec and had to drive my 4th gen f-body a week later. Surprisingly this car was more comfortable than my Jetta, or a few suvs/trucks I've been in because it allowed me to lay my right leg fully straight.
anyways good luck with recovery! Having knee surgery was the worse pain I've ever experienced in my life.

At least the car is clean and waxed so it'll be ready when you are. Good luck with the knee.

Maybe this will make you feel better

took my 89 out for test drive after minor repair. Did not see that the transmission TV cable had disconnected. Only drove a couple of minutes, but now I have a 1600.00 transmission rebuild cost. I feel your pain brother. My car now sits in garage in almost perfect shape except for transmission. Have to keep good attitude, so I tell myself

I'm with ya man. I spent the first six weeks of spring in a walking cast with a broken ankle. it was too big to fit in the footwell, so the car sat. After the first 3 weeks I managed to get a lot of little things fixed. Took a lot longer on some of them but heck I had time.

I'm not to the eighties yet. The knee is a work injury. I am looking at having both wrists operated on. Four months cast time and three months pt. per side. Getting older and living with bad arthritis is not for the faint of heart.

I did the heart test thing for joint replacement. 10 months later I now belong to the :zipper club" ( open heart surg) and am told heart is to weak for joint replacement. 50/50 chance of dying on the op table. Count yourself lucky. No, I didn't do the replacement and hobble around on two canes now. Yep, I still drive my vette..when I can.

Went...

In your honor, I took the '55 out for the first run of the year yesterday.
All was good, brakes a little touchy at first, but all in all, a good drive.

You'll just have to live vicariously through some of us until you heal and get back in your waiting car to have some fun!

Heal quickly...

Speedy recovery and thanks to others for contributing their personal comments. Keep the faith. As an avid motorcyclise and dual Corvette owner I find myself considering getting rid of the bike as I get older, er, make that more mature. A mild dump or miscalculation on the cycle could cost me not only my 2 wheeled riding but driving my C4 M6 as well.

Oh, you are not whining. Anytime you are not able to drive your Corvette it is an abusive situation. Do the best you can an power through the pain; your Vette needs you.

Well...not so bummed out now! My wife and I took a drive in our vette from Aloha, OR to below Roseburg, OR and back (415 miles). I5 is not real exciting but has nice views once you get a half or so south of Salem. It is okay getting into the vette now but a bit hard getting the sore knee out. Carefully applied pills kept the knee pain mostly in check. Wonderful drive, awesome weather. Lost a couple bucks at the Seven Feathers casino.
