yes that's what I was referring to on my 84. There was no way I was going to repair it for 4500 dollars and have the same car this one appears to be. And I'm not financially well off enough to throw copious amounts of money at a car for sentimental reasons. Truth be told I probably shouldn't own one of these cars because having the money to fix them will always be a issue for me. But I guess ill just have to deal with it. Oh and yes definitely the front end is a little floaty. Shocks will be something to be changed soon. I think it needs a upper ball joint or 2 as well. New tires due to the flat spots are coming too. It sat for a long time also like my last one but clearly this is a different situation. Someone had mentioned inspecting it before I bought it. I did take a mechanic friend of mine with me and actually i let him do the test drive before I ever did. for the money at this point in time I would buy this car again so far lol.

With a decent set of hand tools and an FSM, you will be able to maintain your Vette and do alot of the repair work yourself...!

Great deal at $4500...usually in that price range they need paint, (the most expensive item to fix correctly) but yours looks great! Good luck with her! Enjoy!

you did well. Looks a heck of a lot better than my 86. BTW, they run just a hair over 14 seconds in the 1/4. You can tell if you have an early 86 or late one by looking at the heads.. iron in early, alum is late

I have an early, I have the cast heads. I just did a tune up, plugs, wires and all and she runs freaking amazing. No smoke, No drips, No leaking in the engine compartment. Sounds awesome with those pipes. Today I just took it for a little ride and it is just so amazing. Everything I now realize my 84 was not. That of course isn't the cars fault it was the neglect it had received for many years prior. There were times when I felt this way about the ol 84.

Just got the exhaust moved back up where it belongs as well as CAT delete. Left the 2 in place up off the manifolds and just removed the 3rd one. Sounds like a beast and now looks better.
