We all love Vettes.... Some of us love one generation better than others... BUT, I would NEVER refer to any of them as garbage... even the 165hp 79 C3's.... Every Vette is a thing of beauty in its own way... Every generation is a little, or sometimes allot better than the previous one...

Some of the advancements of the C5Z06 cars were huge! Just the titanium exhaust had thousands of hours of R&D at GM before its inception... Thinner windshield and backlites, no real sound deadening, very light weight wheels & tires (no runflats) no jack or spare tire came with the car... 51/49 weight balance and the LS6 405/400 is an absolute blast to drive in a 3116lb car.

Ive owned 80+ cars & trucks in my lifetime so far.... Theres a handful that I regret selling to this day... One is my 92 ZR-1, another, the Torch Red 02Z above.... There are others, such as my 68 AMC AMX my 72 Mustang Mach 1 and a pretty sweet 72 El Camino I had...If I sit and think about it, Im sure there are more... I guess Im just an automotive enthusiast like many of us here... But Vettes are at the top of my list!

Just been thinking about the many vehicles I had.... God, the prices I sold them for back then is sickening.... I had 2 71 C/10 2WD pick ups... I sold one for $900. and another for $800.... I know it was years ago, but still.... I also had a 72 C/10 can remember what I sold that for.. My 79 Z28 was a total restoration sub frame up... I sold that for $7200. back in 2005 I think it was... The condition was excellent, no expense spared and turned out really nice. Looking at todays prices, theyre at $12-15k same miles and condition... I know its all relative to the economy and wages and what the dollar buys, but man, had I kept about 10 or 12 of my favorites, Id have enough for a near new ZR-1!!!

Don't feel bad, sold a 71 Torino 4M 429SCJ (30 over with TRW racing pistons) for $1,500 in 1976.

Speaking of the C5 section, there is (or was?) a wrecked C5 up there for 3K.

Sure would make an LS swap nice.. Every connector. Computer. Accessories and brackets. Harness. The whole bit.

Tempting.

Ok serious question now...

with the ZR1 in a 60/40 lead over a base C6,
would a 1993 be significant because of:

1) hp bump
2) black tag ZF

assuming ZR1's fell victim to the Blue Tag (and 1994 being the cross over year).

With C6 prices dropping. If you ever get your hands on a H/C/E, C6 Z06 its STILL a beast of a car! It owns you if you don't respect it. Will whip Hellcats, exotics etc. Its meant for RR or 1/2 mile drag. That's its real bread and butter. Just for guys that don't know, although its out of style now.!

If something happened to my car, I'd be looking in that or the C6 section depending on time. Unfortunately for me, when I dumped money here, I have to give up there and play with my toys till they are broke.

Any 90-95 ZR-1 with a 500hp package 373 or 410 gears.

93 was a low production year with over half 40th edition. Only 13 Yellow

Although about 130 95 ZR-1s with dual Dunn heads put out closer to 415HP.

thank you, so back to my previous question...would 93 be the year for a serious collector? Because of the black tag ZF? Assuming even ZR1'S fell victim to the blue tag 94 transition year.
also, assuming most people who would want a car like that would also want the higher torque rate transmission.

The 95 is usually considered to be the best ZR-1 from a collector's standpoint.
