Default 84 c4 climate control

I am looking to purchase an 86 c4 but the climate controls do not work. When you first start the fan blows strong for approx. 1 second then quits and willl not restart on A/C or Heat. Has anyone had this problem or ideas of what the problem is. I am brand new to the forum and my first question.

Welcome to the forum!

It sounds like a blower motor resistor to me. They are about $25 and pretty easy to install. These are pretty common to wear out.

Tell us more about the car you are considering and include some photos!

The car is in great condition, if you go on the web site : Castinet Kelowna, it is on there with all the photo's. I don't have any my self. It has a few minor issues, rear view mirror drivers motor does work, water leaks in door windows,& the climate control problem which is the only one I am concerned about. It sounds like it could be an easy fix. The only other thing is the engine will over heat in the summer if stuck in traffic for any length of time which seems to be normal for vets of this age.

Take the cover off the top of the radiator and look for trash between the A/C condenser and the radiator. Very common to find lots of leaves, cigarette butts and other junk in there.

The owner advised that he had cleaned out the rads. I was mistaken on the yr. it is 1986 C4. I was wondering if you could put two electric fans on this year of C4's?
