Default Tachometer Placement

I have a 86 coupe. I want to install an after market tachometer. I wanted to see some ideas and pictures.

Thanks for the information

In the 13 or so years I've been on this board, I don't recall anyone asking that question before.

There IS a place to get your stock tach repaired, if that is the issue (I'll look it up, in case nobody else has it handy). But, If you don't mind saying, is there some other reason you want an aftermarket tach? Analog, perhaps??

I used to have a tach mounted on the A-piller. The '86 factory tach is too slow to update. I was hitting the rev limiter at 6200 way before the tach got there. A few years ago I tossed the digital dash and installed real gauges.

That's my problem. The factory tach can't keep up. I was looking for ideas.

thanks

I had my cluster fixed years ago with LED's and a new power supply. The cluster works as good as it can. The stock tach can't keep up with the car. It takes too long to update. I was looking for ideas on another mounted tach.

thanks.
